The number of people killed on UK roads has fallen significantly over the years, based on statistics issued by the UK Government.
In 2015 1732 people were killed on UK roads, whereas back in 2000 the figure stood at 3409.
Whenever we see “Road Deaths” mentioned, the imagine that comes to mind is a car that has been destroyed, on its roof, having killed the young occupants?
However nothing could be further from the truth as 50% of the number of deaths are not “in car”.
They are in the main Pedestrians and Cyclists, the vulnerable road users.
