Government Investigates Graduated Licence Scheme
Just when you thought that it was safe, after the new Driving Test was introduced, the Government has decided to look into some more wide and far reaching changes that could affect young drivers in the UK.
The recent changes to the Driving Test shrink into insignificance, if the proposed changes are implemented to the fullest extent.
What are we talking about?
A Graduated Licence Scheme, that affects young drivers, AFTER they pass their Driving Test.
It’s a staged Driving licencing system, which gradually lifts restrictions, as skills and knowledge develop.
This type of licensing system operates in Australia.
In other countries, restrictions include, driving at night, speeds, carrying passenger under a certain age and a ban on night driving.
Is it a good idea?
It works in other countries, so no reason why not!
Will it ever be implemented in the UK?
We cant see it, as the British, don’t like restrictions and the whole thing is very politically sensitive.
One vote gained, two lost, that kind of thing.
Question is, what do you think of the idea; comments welcome
